Ipsy - August 2017

So, still trying to recoup and catch up from my lungs not working but I had to review my August Ipsy bag! I really loved the design of this months bag, perfect way to end the summer season. I very much enjoyed the products I received as well! Good things all around. Lets get into the deets.

Loved the picks this month. I'm actually really digging the face masks that I've gotten from Ipsy. They have not disappointed. I also got an eyeliner, blush/contour, mascara, and a brow pencil. I think I really would have loved the brow pencil, but it was wayyyy too light for my hair color.

Y'all know the deal, below are the products and my personal reviews. If you get Ipsy monthy, let me know what products you got and what you liked and didn't!

One: Makeup Forever - Excessive Lash
  • I really liked this mascara. It went on really nice and didn't flake into my eyes. 5/5 for this mascara!

Two: Labotica - Honey and Bamboo Skin Soft Mask Set

  • I love these masks. Since I've been so sick, my skin has for sure taken a beating. My nose is raw, my skin is dry and gross. Using these masks made my skin nice and soft. I wish I had one for every day! 5/5 for Labotica :)

Three: Steve Laurant - Precision Tip Liner

  • Another win! I'm alllllll about a liquid black eyeliner. This goes on great over eye shadow and stays on all day. I used some setting spray after using this and it literally didn't move. I had it on over night as well and seriously it didn't budge. Another 5/5!! Loved this bag!

Four: Paula Dorf Cosmetics - Mini Universal Brow Pencil in Taupe
  • I wanted to love this so much. It just didn't do it for me though. The color was WAY too light for my hair and I looked silly after I put it on. This is going into the bag of samples for my sister since this is almost her exact color! 3/5 for this brow pencil because it was too light.

Five: Hikari - Shimmer Bronzer in Flush
  • These colors are so nice. I really liked how smooth and pigmented this was. I used the bronzer more as a highlighter because it had a little shimmer to it and I LOVED the turn out. It brought the perfect amount of warmth to my cheeks to balance everything out! 5/5 again! For real loved this bag!

Overall, a 23/25 for this bag. Not too shabby! Like I said, this  bag was a HUGE win for me. I really liked all the products. I wish the brow pencil was my color because it went on SO nicely, but you can't win them all.

Jeffree Star Androgyny Pallette

Y'all. I have been so sick. I've been to the doctor 2x in the past two weeks and my doctor told me my bronchitis came back, which totally sucks because my lungs already suck. I got put on Predisone, which is making my whole body swell. I hate taking it. SO, my second visit, the doctor told me that I probably don't have bronchitis and that I could have a slew of other issues... and I had to go back on Prednisone... SO I'M STILL PUFFY. SOOO that's what I've been doing. Trying to make my sucky lungs work again.. PSA: they're still not working. Also, please don't judge my puffy face.

Anyway, that's not the reason we're here. While I've been slowly dying, I was perusing around Mercari and bless the Sephora employees that post duplicate pallettes they prob get for free or EXTREMELY discounted because I got this brand new Androgyny pallette for $25 after a $10 off my first purchase. WORTH IT. I've been dying to give it a test run. So, today I did. It's so perfect. Look at it.

Look at those colors! Those green and blues! UGH. I can't. It's so good. Okay. Lets get into the deets of what I used on today's look. It was dark. Let me just start by saying... THIS IS SO PIGMENTED. So beware. I started just above my brow bone with Dominatrix. I used the fluffy side of my Naked Pallette brush to get a nice shadow going. Then, I pressed Poison onto my lid. After that was complete I tool Swallow and blended it into my crease. Once it was all pretty and blended, I took Frosting and dabbed it right in the corner of my inner eye and blended it into the eye. I mimicked what was on my lid on my under eye.

I left it big for y'all so you could see the finished product. I used many other awesome products to finish this look. and if you scroll down, I got em all there for you.

Let me know what you guys think! Yay or nay?

Eye Primer: NYX Eyeshadow Base - $7
Brows: Essence Make Me Brow - $2.99

Sephora Play! August 2017 Review

Yes, I broke down. I subscribed for the Sephora Play! box. I do not regret it one bit. Many of my friends also are signed up for this box and it's one of their fav subscription boxes. Sephora play bags come with five deluxe samples and one fragrance sample. You are not able to pay a whole year up front for these bags but are instead charged $10 up front each month. I really enjoyed most of this month's products. The bag was super cute this month as well #MakeupGeek.

Getting into the goods, I received a baby beauty blender, a two step eyeliner, moisturizer, foundation and dry shampoo. I pretty much like everything I received. All great  quality items!!

One: Hourglass - Foundation Stick in Beige

  • THIS.STUFF.IS.BOMB. Matched my skin perfectly and totally hide the dark bags under my eyes. I set it with Maybelline MasterFix and it stayed perfectly in place all.day.long. If you don't have Master Fix, I would also recommend to get this as well. Hourglass gets a 5/5 for being perfect 💙

Two: Clinique - HIM Dual-Ended High Impact Mascara and Primer Duo

  • This mascara worked wonders. I already have long lashes, but woah! These babies are large and in charge when I put this on. It's not waterproof, I wish it was, but we can't get everything we wish for! But, you should wish to get  this because it's the bomb.com. Two step gets 5/5!

Three: Lancer - The Method Polish

  • This is a skin resurfacing moisturizing cream. It goes on so smooth and left my face feeling smooth and soft. I haven't really noticed much of a difference in my skin, I don't have a lot of scarring, just a few lines on my forehead from the puzzling look I have on my face at my big girl job all day (LOLZ). I will give this a 4/5.

Four: Living Proof - Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo

  • I mean. Yes. I literally live by the dry shampoo code... I really don't wash my hair unless it's absolutely necessary. Like, starts to smell or gets too oily. So I obviously have tried a plethora of dry shampoos to tame the beast in between washes. This Living Proof spray seriously worked wonders. It did take me quite a bit to get it worked in, because my natural hair is dark brown, almost black. But I was BEYOND impressed with the results. Have to give this a 5/5. Very highly recommend to add this to your hair regimen.

Five: beautyblender - beautyblender micro.mini

  • Last, but not least, baby beauty blender. I mean, it's a beauty blender. It does it's job and it's also like the other 10 I have. I used this to blend my under eye make up until it was perfectly smooth. Honestly though, baby blender is just like big blenders. Get a big one. Giving this a 3/5.

Overall, EXTREMELY impressed with this months bag and I am v excited to get next months bag already! This bag gets a 22/25. August was a great makeup month! I can't wait to share my Ipsy bag and Birchbox when they get here!!!

Ulta Haul #One!!!

Is it apparent yet that I love makeup? I love a good brand and I love a good bargain. Ulta is great, they are based near my hometown, and they always have great deals on makeup.. Since, ya know... It's a makeup store! I always try to do a big purchase of items I've had my eye on for awhile when the do 20% off. It's a great deal and almost all products are eligible for the discount. Too Faced is one of my favs so I was excited to get a few of the things. See below for haul.

I didn't go crazy, but was super happy with everything I purchased. I'll go over everything I got and let you all know what I loved and what I could have gone without. I love to hear from you all and love product recommendations! Let me know if there's something you want me to review in the comments :)

  • Obv these were my two favorite things I purchased. I needed a good highlighter and blush and this did just the trick. The bronzer was a bonus. I had never really used highlighter before because I didn't have one that ever worked well. So, I was happy to be able to see the shimmer of this when I put it on!!! As for the melt off mascara, yes. This was a deluxe size that came with the Sweet Peach glow. It is now my best friend. I'm also sad because it's almost gone so I need to get a new one. Soon. Would recommend either product.

  • The foundation brush was a nice add to my collection. I need to find a liquid foundation that I like because right now I'm just using my regular matte cream foundation and it comes out streaky so I need to test if it's the brush or the foundation. If you look in my Wunderbrow post I use the Eyelure brush for my brows and they turn out BEA-UUU-tiful every time! Would recommend if you are putting your brows on!

  • Big fan Of NYX. Affordable, great quality makeup. The glitter primer is great. I use it on my eyelids when I'm planning to wear eye shadow. Adds just the right amount of shimmer. The eye shadow base is nice and creamy as well. Goes on smooth but a little goes a long way. If you put too much on, it will get clumpy. This can be worn with our without eye shadow, at least for me! It's a bit darker than my skin so it creates a nice brown color on my eyelid. I have pretty bad dark circles under my eyes and the yellow helps neutralize the dark purple before I put the rest of my face on. I use the green color to even out redness on my face. It helps when my skin gets irritated from a pimple.

  • I was not a huge fan of the NYX metallic lip cream. It took more than one layer to make it a solid color and it was really sticky. I'll stick to their mattes! The Lottie London on the other hand was one of my favorites. The nude/pink color complemented my skin great and the liner went on so smooth. This LITERALLY lasted all day. I didn't have to reapply at all. 10/10 would recommend getting this if you're looking for a matte/liner duo.

  • So much yes for this primer spray by NYX. It made my skin feel smooth and fully dried in a few minutes. My make up looked great after using this along with the NYX matte finishing spray! BIG fan of this product.

Milky Piggy Products Review

Has anyone used Milky Piggy products before? Well if you haven't you're in for a treat. Today, I'm reviewing the Milky Piggy Hell Pore Clean Up Mask and the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. I ordered both of these products off Amazon, but you can get them on a few online realtors. I was really excited to get these face masks. I used masks almost everyday because I love the way my face feels afterwards. I was especially excited to use the Carbonated Bubble clay mask because it's supposed to also remove makeup! Each mask is about $10 and there are more than a few uses in each tube.

The Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask is so much fun. My boyfriend begrudgingly used BOTH masks with me, but lets be honest, he secretly liked it :) but this mask is so much fun. It comes with an applicator and starts bubbling pretty quickly after it's put on. My mistake was trying to put my glasses on after the mask was applied to my face. Needless to say, I had to wash my face AND my glasses when it was time to take it off. The bubbles totally made my face super itchy but I mustered through it. I was wearing make up when I put the mask on because the mask can be rubbed after bubbling for a while to remove it. I did this step after about 10 minutes of letting the bubbles grow on my face. To get the mask off, I used warm water until everything was off my face. My skin felt so nice afterwards. I did notice my pores were a little bit smaller and my skin felt smooth. I would recommend this mask to anyone who is having a girls night or just a night in by yourself!

I was terrified to use the Hell Pore mask. for best results, it suggests the mask is put on right after taking a relaxing hot shower. So, that's what I did. Immediately after I put the mask on I was freaking out. The hype around this mask is insane. I read lots of mixed reviews that said it hurt really bad trying to take it off and some reviews were like, nah it's cool it doesn't hurt. Needless to say, I was semi freaking out. I put the mask on immediately after I got out of the shower and left it on for about 15 minutes and it was completely dry. As a side note, when you put it on, put a thin layer or you're going to need to wait FOREVER for it to dry. My fifteen minutes were up, my face was dry and it was time. I was scared for no reason. It did not hurt when it was peeled off. I did get some stuck in my baby hairs and yes, that was painful and ripped the hair out. V UNPLEASANT. Overall, it was fine. It did NOT remove any of my black heads, but did leave my skin firm and soft! If you're looking for more of a black/white head removal, I would not recommend. Get something that has a higher charcoal content. Look at me before. I was V scared. LOL!

Overall, the bubble mask was so much fun. I'll definitely keep using it! As for Hell Pore, it's okay. I'll use it when I have an extra 15-20 minutes in the morning. Want to try these masks? Follow the links below 💓
